Bellevue will hold an open house to discuss construction of a new bridge that will replace an aging culvert under Coal Creek Parkway.

The culvert is located between Southeast 60th Street and Forest Drive Southeast. The project will protect the roadway, improve public safety, provide a new pedestrian walkway and improve fish passage.

Construction is set to begin April 2013 and will require long-term lane closures on the road in 2013 and 2014.

During each phase of construction, Coal Creek Parkway will be reduced to one lane in each direction from April through November 2013 and again in 2014.

Bellevue will host the open house from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 15 at Bellevue City Hall to provide early notification about the project and what it means to drivers and the surrounding community.

Bellevue City Hall is located at 450 110th Ave. N.E. and the open house will be held in room 1E-108.
