Car break-ins reported in Brewer, Windtree neighborhoods

NEW — 3:45 p.m. Dec. 5, 2011

Around 2:30 a.m. Dec. 2, several vehicles were broken into in the Brewer (9200 block of 118th Place S.E.) and Windtree (9300 block of 120th Ave. S.E.) neighborhoods in Newcastle.

No loss has been discovered related to the break-ins.

According to a statement from Newcastle Police Chief Melinda Irvine, witnesses saw two white males who were walking from car to car. The suspects are believed to be in their 50s, and the men reportedly left in a light blue Ford Ranger two-door pick-up truck.

Newcastle police seek car break-in information

The Newcastle Police Department is seeking information after three cars were broken into between the evening hours of Nov. 16 and the morning of Nov. 17 in the Madison Lane and Asbury Crest neighborhoods, near Southeast 69th Street and 115th Place.

The culprit or culprits entered the vehicles by breaking windows. Some of the stolen items of value were left in plain sight.

Police bust car prowler

NEW — 4:15 p.m. March 10, 2010

Newcastle Police arrested a car prowler the morning of March 4 for possession of stolen property. Most of the stolen property in the man’s possession was linked to car prowls that had been committed several hours earlier in the Olympus and Highlands neighborhoods.

Also among the items police found in the man’s possession was a unique purse, but the owner of the purse has not been identified.
