Liberty High School garage sale cancelled

April 18, 2011

UPDATED — 1:40 p.m. April 22, 2011

Liberty High School cancelled its garage sale scheduled for April 23 due to lack of interest and donations. It would have been the school’s first garage sale.

Associated Student Body Activity Coordinator and Dean of Students Michelle Munson said the school will try to hold the event next year.

The sale was to be in honor of Maple Hills Elementary School teacher Steve Birdsall, who died of multiple system atrophy in February. School officials planned to donate proceeds from the sale to Shy-Drager, an organization that offers support to families affected by the disease.
