The Newcastle City Council will hold its first meeting of the month on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

The evening’s main agenda item, for the second straight meeting, is council consideration of a Quadrant Homes plat application. Plans for the proposed area, more commonly known as the school woods property, have drawn the ire of residents concerned about traffic, drainage and protection of trails.

The council will also discuss recent marijuana legislation adopted after the city extended its marijuana moratorium in June; review the city’s information and technology operations; and examine the city’s inventory of private roads in response to a neighoborhood request for the city to take ownership of a private road in The Madronas subdivision.

The regular Newcastle City Council meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Newcastle City Hall, 12835 Newcastle Way, Suite 200.
