The Newcastle City Council will review a proposed zoning code amendment, review a social media policy and more at its March 18 meeting.

The meeting will begin with a presentation from David Della, who will deliver Waste Management’s annual report.

The first item under general business is an ordinance amending home occupation standards. The amendment would allow offsite parking for nonresidential uses in residential areas based on specific criteria.

Since it is an ordinance, a public hearing will be held before any final action is taken by the City Council.

The Council will also review a proposed social media policy and decide whether or not to keep the liaison to the Community Activities Commission.

Finally, the City Council will review City Manager Rob Wyman’s contract and could decide to revise his salary. The Council annually reviews the city manager’s performance. Last year at this time, the Council awarded Wyman a $4,000 raise to bring his annual salary to $120,000.
