Coal Creek Parkway lane closures return Feb. 18

NEW — 4:50 p.m. Feb. 14, 2014
Coal Creek Parkway will again be reduced to one lane in each direction beginning Feb. 18 as the city of Bellevue starts Phase 2 of its project to replace an aging culvert.
The closures will occur between Forest Drive Southeast and Southeast 60th Street, and will remain that way until October. The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph through the work zone.
The city of Bellevue’s project to build a new bridge replacing a 45-year-old deteriorating culvert began last year. One-lane closures started in May, before the parkway reopened in December.
The project also includes a pedestrian pathway that will run underneath the bridge and connect to the Coal Creek Trail and creek restoration to improve salmon migration. The city constructed the west side of the bridge last year.
