December 3, 2013
NEW — 3 p.m. Dec. 3, 2013
The Renton School District will present the latest artist renderings of Newcastle’s future middle school at a Dec. 5 public meeting held at the Renton Academy.
The two-story school designed by NAC Architecture will occupy the 11-acre site of the Renton Academy, next to Hazelwood Elementary School.
District staff and NAC Architecture representatives will be available to answer questions at the Dec. 5 meeting that begins at 6:30 p.m.
The Renton School District last met with the Newcastle community about the school at a July 18 open house showcasing NAC Architecture’s specification design plans.
The project remains on schedule, and the school is slated to open in fall 2016.
The project was made possible thanks to voter support of an April 2012 bond measure. The $97 million bond measure will fund the school, improvements to the Lindbergh High School pool and other construction costs.
The Renton Academy is at 6928 116th Ave. S.E.
