The Newcastle Chamber of Commerce will host Robin Callahan, executive director of the Issaquah Schools Foundation, at its Aug. 14 luncheon.

Callahan will discuss the power of small business investment in public education.

“I think it’s important that local communities learn about the many ways we see business invest in our schools, and the successful partnerships that result,” she said.

The Issaquah Schools Foundation is a nonprofit organization that drives resources to help students achieve the promise of their academic potential.

Callahan, whose children graduated from Liberty High School, has overseen exponential growth at the Issaquah Schools Foundation during her 11-year tenure, growing annual revenue from $200,000 to $1.3 million.

The August luncheon, sponsored by Bazinga Stitch, begins at 11 a.m. Aug. 14 at Tapatio Mexican Grill. The cost is $20 for chamber members and $25 for non-members.
