Puget Sound-area Massage Envy centers will salute first responders with the “Thanking our Community Heroes” program beginning July 15.

During the five-day promotion, police officers, firefighters and emergency medical technicians actively employed in the line of duty are invited to receive one free hourlong therapeutic massage session.

The free massage sessions are by appointment only and participants are encouraged to book as soon as possible as the spots fill up fast. Make a reservation by calling the Newcastle Massage Envy at 957-7979.

Each clinic will also host a teddy bear drive to collect cuddly friends to help comfort children in trauma situations. All teddy bears collected will be donated to fire stations, police stations and hospitals within the community. Donations must be brand new and no bigger than 12 inches.

Those who donate a new bear will also receive a free enhanced therapy, such as aromatherapy, with their paid massage session.

Newcastle’s Massage Envy is at 6920 Coal Creek Parkway S.E.
