Organizing for Action (OFA) invites the community to the event, “How will the Affordable Care Act affect you?” at 6:30 p.m. April 18 in the Newcastle Library Meeting Room.

  • 6:30 – 7:00 p.m. – Meeting and action to reduce gun violence in our community;
  • 7:00 – 7:40 p.m. – Presentation by Mr. Chewon Lee, the Office of Insurance Commissioner’s Health Insurance Benefit Advisor; and
  • 7:40 – 8:00 p.m. – Questions & Answers with Mr. Lee.

About 805,000 Washington residents will qualify for the new expanded free Medicaid and subsidized Exchange insurance plans. By Jan. 1, 2014, all insurance will have to cover doctor’s visits, hospitalizations, maternity care, emergency room and prescriptions; the insured might be able to get financial help to pay for a health insurance plan; insurance plans cannot deny coverage for a pre-existing condition; and all insurance plans will have to show costs and what is covered in simple language.

OFA is a nonprofit, non-electoral, social welfare 501(c)(4) organization. RSVP is not required but requested at www.barackobama.com/events or send an email to: sandra.castell@gmail.com

The Newcastle Library is at 12901 Newcastle Way.
