The community is invited to attend the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce’s first after-hours social event, hosted by UW/Valley Medical Center Newcastle Primary Care.

Guests will have the opportunity to sip on drinks and munch on appetizers, while meeting the Newcastle clinic’s primary care doctor, as well as the chamber’s new executive director, Imelda Dulcich, at the free event.

The social begins at 6 p.m. Jan. 17 on the first floor of the UW/Valley Medical Center Newcastle Clinic, 7203 129th Ave. S.E.

“While future after-hours social events will be for chamber members only, we wanted to celebrate with the Newcastle community,” said Peter Zevenbergen, the chamber’s president, in a statement. “The events will be held at different Newcastle venues and sponsored by Newcastle Chamber members. Each event will vary in theme depending on the host.”

Christina Mason, the clinic’s manager and chamber secretary, expressed delight at hosting the inaugural after-hours event.

“Newcastle Clinic is thrilled to host and invite community members to the first after-hours chamber event of 2013,” she said in a statement. “We hope community members and business representatives will drop by, enjoy drinks and snacks, meet Newcastle Clinic and chamber members, and consider joining the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce.”

Apple Physical Therapy is also providing sponsorship for the event.
