Representatives from the city of Bellevue will present information about the construction of a new bridge that will replace an aging culvert under Coal Creek Parkway at the Jan. 15 Newcastle City Council meeting.

The culvert is located between Southeast 60th Street and Forest Drive Southeast. The project will protect the roadway, improve public safety, provide a new pedestrian walkway and improve fish passage.

Construction is set to begin April 2013 and will require long-term lane closures on the road in 2013 and 2014.

During each phase of construction, Coal Creek Parkway will be reduced to one lane in each direction from April through November 2013 and again in 2014.

The presentation takes place at the City Council’s Jan. 15 meeting, beginning at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.

City Hall’s address is 12835 Newcastle Way, Suite 200.
