Newport Hills hosts holiday bazaar

The nearby Bellevue neighborhood of Newport Hills will host its annual holiday bazaar from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 17 at the site of the former Red Apple Market in the Newport Hills Shopping Center, 5606 119th Ave. S.E., Bellevue.
Shoppers can purchase goods, including jewelry, crafts and ornaments, from local artists and crafters.
Local organizations including the Newcastle Weed Warriors and the Friends of the Newcastle Library will also have information booths available. Read more

Rose Coulter Wisner

Rose Coulter Wisner was born Aug. 17, 1963, in Seattle, and died Nov. 9, 2012, at Evergreen Hospice in Kirkland.
Wife and mother of three, she was a dedicated volunteer at St. Madeleine Sophie Catholic School in Bellevue, St. Monica Parish School on Mercer Island, and a stalwart rider and fundraiser for the Northwest JDRF Ride-to-Cure Diabetes team.
She grew up the third of four children in Montesano, graduated Cum Laude from the Washington State University Edward R. Murrow College of Communications in Pullman in 1985, and worked as a writer and producer for KIRO-TV for 11 years.
Bellevue hosts open house to discuss new bridge on Coal Creek Parkway

Bellevue will hold an open house to discuss construction of a new bridge that will replace an aging culvert under Coal Creek Parkway.
The culvert is located between Southeast 60th Street and Forest Drive Southeast. The project will protect the roadway, improve public safety, provide a new pedestrian walkway and improve fish passage.
Construction is set to begin April 2013 and will require long-term lane closures on the road in 2013 and 2014. Read more
