Surprise break-in

A cellphone, an insurance card and a vehicle binder were stolen from a car parked in the 7000 block of 122nd Avenue Southeast on Aug. 2 or 3. The victim did not realize anything had been stolen until a Bellevue police officer returned the vehicle binder which was found in a Bellevue park.


Mow the lawn

On Aug. 7, a woman reported a lawn mower was stolen from her unfenced back yard in the 11000 block of Southeast 77th Place. The woman had taken all of the items out of a shed in preparation for having it removed.


Hit the deck

The hood and fender of a Toyota was damaged after an unknown suspect threw a deck chair at the vehicle parked in the lot of the Cedar Rim Apartments on 110th Avenue Southeast on Aug. 7 or 8.

Flat screen stolen

A 55-inch flat-screen television and two chainsaws were stolen from a rental property in the 12000 block of Southeast 88th Place on Aug. 8.


Phantom garage door

Police responded to a suspicious circumstances call in the 11000 block of Southeast 74th Street after a man and his wife said they were sitting in their bedroom when they heard their garage door close with no explanation Aug. 9. Nothing was missing from the garage.


Electronics stolen

An unknown suspect took a laptop, a digital camera, a video camera, a men’s watch and a passport from two unlocked vehicles parked at a residence in the 11000 block of Southeast 85th Street on Aug. 10. Police took fingerprints from the exterior of the vehicle.


Missing  prescriptions

On Aug. 10, an employee at Bartell Drugs reported prescription drugs, including pain medication and antibiotics, were missing from a personal locker at the Newcastle store on Coal Creek Parkway. The employee forgot to secure the locker and said the medicine went missing between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.


Stolen iPad

A woman reported her iPad was taken from her shopping cart Aug. 10 while she shopped at the Safeway store, 6911 Coal Creek Parkway.


Dune buggy

A resident reported an abandoned vehicle in the 1300 block of Southeast 95th Way on Aug. 10. The resident said the vehicle had been there for two days and described it as a “dune buggy” type vehicle, with no doors or top.


Game, set, match

On Aug. 10, an unknown suspect took three tennis rackets, a GPS and a backpack filled with college orientation material from an unlocked vehicle in the 6000 block of Lake Washington Boulevard Southeast.


Take a hike

A woman reported that her 2011 Lexus had been broken into at the Red Town Trailhead, 15500 Newcastle Golf Club Road, between 7:00 and 8:20 a.m. Aug. 11. The burglar smashed the front driver’s side window, and stole her purse and its contents.


Gas up

On Aug. 13, a man reported that fuel was taken from his truck parked in the 7000 block of 113th Avenue Southeast. The victim said an unknown suspect damaged the fuel cap and possibly used a siphon to take the fuel. The victim also said the theft has been going on periodically for about a year, usually at night.


Broken door

An unknown suspect took jewelry, money and two computers from a residence in the 12000 block of Southeast 89th Place on Aug. 16. The victim said the suspect likely entered through a broken back door that no longer locks.


Let’s golf

On Aug. 17, a man reported that someone broke into his vehicle parked in the 8000 block of 116th Avenue Southeast. An unknown suspect attempted to shatter the vehicle windows, but was able to punch out the door locks to gain entry and steal the victim’s golf bag filled with clubs, two laptops and other valuables.
