Student brings gun to Renton Academy

Police responded to Renton Academy, 6928 116th Avenue S.E., after a 16-year-old student brought a handgun to school May 6 and showed it to another student on the school bus.


Car break-in

A man reported that his 2008 Subaru Legacy had been broken into in the 12100 block of Southeast 70th Street between 1:45 and 9:45 a.m. May 7. He reported that a laptop worth $2,500 had been stolen. The car had been locked, and the man wasn’t sure how the car was entered.


Items stolen from home

A man reported that a family friend, whom he pays to do work in his house, stole several items from his home, in the 11600 block of Southeast 90th Street, between 4:20 p.m. May 7 and 2:50 a.m. May 8. He reported that the man stole a gold chain worth $150, five bracelets together worth $1,900, 12 gold chains together worth $400, two gold wedding rings together worth $6,000, a .31-caliber pistol worth $200 and a woven gold necklace worth $1,800.


Gasoline dumping

Fire fighters responded to the 6400 block of Lake Washington Boulevard at 12:15 p.m. May 9 after a man had dumped gasoline onto gravel in the city right of way. He left a wet spot about two feet in diameter. Fire fighters deposited an absorbent material atop the wet spot.


Garage burglary

A woman reported that her 2008 Lexus IS 300 had been burglarized between 7 and 9 p.m. May 10 while it was parked in her garage in the 7000 block of 119th Place Southeast. She reported that her husband had left the garage door open while working around the perimeter of the house, and that the car had been unlocked. She reported the stolen items to be a laptop worth $1,000 and a pair of sunglasses worth $20.
