Local business
leader Bob Bridge
fondly remembers
playing the trumpet
while in high school
and college. Those
experiences, he
says, helped him
develop mental
sharpness, focus
and provided skills
to become a better
leader.
Bridge, president of Bob Bridge Toyota | Scion Renton, was recalling his glory days today to students in Ernest
Hibbardâ??s band class at Hazen High School. Bridge was there to present the school with a $2,000 check which
will be used to help repair musical instruments. He will make similar visits to Lindbergh and Renton high
schools.
Bridge has for years been actively involved in education issues in the district,
including helping to establish the Friends of Renton Schools community fund to
raise public and private funding for district education programs, and creating
and funding Reading Buddies, an elementary school reading program where
upper grade students help teach reading to younger students.
Bridge said his commitment to schools and education isnâ??t unique, â??There are a
lot of people in this town who care deeply about this community and the
education of our children.
Bob Bridge demonstrates to band students at Hazen High School how he carried the trumpet while
in the marching band in high school and college. Bridge stopped by the classroom to present
$2,000 to Hazenâ??s band program to help repair instruments. He will provide the same support to
Lindbergh and Renton high school band programs.
