Wallet theft

A man reported that his wallet was stolen while he was playing basketball at Hazelwood Elementary School, 7100 116th Ave. S.E., between 4 and 10 p.m. July 28. The wallet contained the man’s driver’s license, military ID and debit card.

You’ve got mail

A man and a woman noticed an explosion from a mailbox just after 4 p.m. July 30 as they drove the 12700 block of Southeast 95th Way. The witnesses saw two teenage boys, ages 14 and 16, respectively, walking away from the explosion. The witnesses walked the boys to the porch of the house where the explosion occurred and called 911. The boys admitted to being bored and learning how to build a bomb on the Internet. The reporting officer drove the boys home.

That’s a car, not a hotdog

A woman reported that someone had smeared pickle relish on her Toyota Corolla while it was parked in her driveway, in the 14500 block of 166th Place Southeast, between 10 p.m. Aug. 10 and 11 a.m. Aug. 11. No damage was done, but the woman had to spend two hours cleaning her car.

Home burglary

A woman reported that her home, in the 11300 block of Southeast 89th Place, was burglarized between 5 p.m. Aug. 14 and noon Aug. 15. The front door was pried open, causing $200 in damage. Stolen were jewelry worth $220, a laptop computer worth $1,200, a purse worth $2 and a 40-inch Vizio TV worth $1,500.

Bike thefts

A woman reported that her bike was stolen from The Approach Condominiums, 6800 132nd Place, between 8 a.m. Aug. 9 and 9 a.m. Aug. 10. The bike, worth $800, was taken from a locked storage area. However, no damage was done to the door or the doorjamb.

A man reported that two road bikes were stolen from The Approach Condominiums, 6800, 132nd Place, between 11 p.m. Aug. 14 and 1:10 p.m. Aug. 15. The bikes, worth $2,500 and $3,255, respectively, were stolen from a locked storage locker. There were pry marks on the locker’s door, as well as on five other locker doors nearby, although it was unclear whether the other lockers had been entered.

Abandoned vehicles

A passerby reported at 8:46 a.m. Aug. 14 that a 1992 Honda Accord had been dumped in the woods of a county park, in the 13900 block of 144th Avenue Southeast. The car had been reported stolen from Federal Way. The driver’s side door was damaged and the radio was missing. Police contacted the registered owner and impounded the car.

A passerby reported at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 15 that a 1994 Honda Civic had been abandoned in the 14200 block of 180th Avenue Southeast. The car was blocking the southbound lane. The wheels and tires had been removed, and the vehicle was sitting on logs. The interior was stripped. Police impounded the vehicle.
