Resident passes the fool test

A woman reported that she got a suspicious phone call at her home, in the 7300 block of 125th Place Southeast, from a Renton-based phone number shortly after 11:30 a.m. July 15. The caller — a woman with a thick, East Indian accent who sounded like she was in her 20s — said she was from the reporting woman’s phone company, and she said she needed the reporting woman’s address, birthday and mother’s maiden name to send her “a gift.” The reporting woman hung up the phone without giving any information.

There’s no hotel here, silly

A security guard reported a suspicious vehicle at The Golf Club at Newcastle, 15500 Six Penny Lane, at 2:28 a.m. July 16. A red pickup was unoccupied and parked at a turnaround area near the entrance to near the parking lot. After arriving at the scene, an officer spotted four teenagers walking back to the car. They said they had come to the course to visit a friend at the “golf course hotel.” The officer told them there was no hotel, and they then said they had just come to look at the view. The officer called their parents, and the security guard warned them they were trespassing.
