Hazen teacher named Educator of Distinction

The National Society of High School Scholars named Hazen High School social studies teacher Marybeth Mayzak as an Educator of Distinction.

Mayzak was one of two teachers in the Renton School District to earn the award.

She was recognized for making significant contributions to the academic careers of students, being an outstanding role model, having a positive influence and making a lasting difference in the lives of students. Hazen student Jacob Zimmer nominated Mayzak.
