Hazen girls soccer wins state academic award

The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association awarded the Hazen High School girls soccer team its Outstanding Academic Achievement Award.

The team’s overall grade point average was 3.46.

The award comes in the wake of the Hazen girls soccer team’s best season since 1993, finishing the 2009 regular season 11-7-1. The team also advanced to the playoffs, winning an overtime thriller in the first round, but losing in the second round.
