Burglary

Items including jewelry, wine and $800 in cash were stolen from a house in the 13900 block of Southeast 88th Place between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. April 2. The burglar broke into the home through a kitchen window on the main level. The homeowners said they suspect the burglar was a man who came to their home and did landscaping without their permission and then demanded money. The estimated loss is $1,400 for the window and the cash.

Locker job

A cordless drill worth $200, a gym bag with clothing worth $500, and a stereo and subwoofer system worth $550 were stolen. The thief also damaged the car’s interior dash and seats.
  • A 2006 Chevrolet Malibu was broken into between 5 and 7:30 a.m. April 20 in the 7400 block of 125th Avenue Southeast. The car’s owner noticed her car door open and things strewn about. She called her husband to see if he’d been in the car that morning and when he said no, she called police. Three pairs of sunglasses were stolen.
  • Items including a gym clothing, a gym bag, an iPod and a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses were stolen from an Acura between 8:30 p.m. April 21 and 5:30 a.m. April 22. The car was parked in the driveway of a home in the 7800 block of 113th Avenue Southeast. The owner said he went to the mailbox and noticed a car door was open. He also found several items from the car tossed on the ground, including his wallet that still had cash in it.
  • A 2009 Ford Flex was broken into between 5:15 and 5:35 p.m. April 24. The woman left her purse in plain view, because she said she was only going into the YMCA, 13700 Newcastle Golf Club Road, for a few minutes. In that time, the thief unsuccessfully tried to break into her car through her driver’s side window, damaging its. After, the thief smashed a rear passenger window and stole about $200 in cash and her purse with her driver’s license and credit cards. The estimated loss is $800.
