Wrestler Hamilton Noel, of Liberty High School, took second place in his division at the Mat Classic XXII state tournament Feb. 20 in the Tacoma Dome.
Local athletes accept college scholarships

Liberty High School offensive lineman Coleton Langdon has signed a football scholarship with Portland State University. Through the scholarship, the university will pay for Langdon’s tuition, fees and books. However, Langdon will still need to pay for room and board. Read more

Liberty High School boys basketball coach Jevon Green was suspended for the remainder of his contract after being arrested Dec. 26 for failure to appear in court after driving with a suspended license. Read more
Soccer team goes to state cup

Select soccer team Newport FC Diamonds Gu12’s finished its season as one of the eight best select soccer teams in the Washington Youth Soccer’s Commissioner’s State Cup.
It defeated four teams before falling 1-0 to Shoreline FC Blue Flames in the quarterfinals. Read more
